What this checker reads
PNG files can carry small text records alongside the picture. This tool reads all three standard kinds—tEXt,zTXt, and iTXt—then points out familiar records from popular image-generation tools. Open any result row to see the original text exactly as it appears in the file.

How to understand the result
A named tool is a useful clue that this copy passed through that workflow. It is not a tamper-proof receipt. PNG text can be edited, copied into another image, or removed during export. Describe the finding narrowly: “This PNG contains generation settings associated with ComfyUI,” rather than “this proves every part of the image was generated.”
An empty result is also limited. Many social sites, chat apps, optimizers, and screenshot tools rewrite images and drop these records. If the history matters, ask for the original PNG produced by the creator’s tool.
Why the original PNG matters
Converting the picture to JPEG or WebP removes the PNG chunks this checker needs. A screenshot creates a new file and normally loses them too. Renaming a JPEG so its filename ends in .png does not restore the information; the checker verifies the actual PNG file format before reading it.

PNG generation metadata questions
Does finding a prompt prove the image is AI-generated?
No. It is meaningful evidence about this file, but ordinary PNG text can be changed or copied. Report the exact record you found and use other context when the conclusion matters.
Why does my ComfyUI image show no workflow?
The image may have been exported without metadata, converted to another format, optimized by a website, or captured as a screenshot. Ask for the original saved PNG.
Can this show the negative prompt and seed?
Yes, when the creating tool saved them in a readable PNG text block. Expand each result to view the complete stored text.
Does the checker upload my image?
No. Your browser reads the selected PNG locally, and the file is not sent to this site.
